All at Irish PEN/PEN na hÉireann are saddened by the untimely passing of writer and documentary maker Manchán Magan. 

Through all his work, Magan was authentic in exploring and using many languages – including his unfailing promotion of the Irish language. 

His documentaries brought other cultures and ways of being to our attention, and his openness in looking for – and finding – commonality rather than difference on his travels remains inspirational.
