Evening with Mark O'Halloran

Mark O’Halloran wrote the brilliant film Garage, a touching and sensitive study into a simple man, Josie, played by Pat Shortt, which won the Best Script for Film at the 2008 Irish Film and Television Awards. The film was acclaimed at the Cannes Film Festival. He wrote and starred in the film Adam and Paul, which won the London Evening Standard award for Best Screenplay. That movie, which also earned him a nomination for Best Screenwriter at the 2005 European Film Awards, explored the lives of two homeless heroin addicts. Prosperity, which won the Best Script for Television at the 2008 Irish Film and Television Awards, was written at the height of the Celtic Tiger and explores the life of a marginalised community in Dublin. Prosperity also won the Best Television Script at the 2008 Irish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild Awards.
